Welcome to a rural town in your imagination called Someplace, Somewhere. It's a quaint little town, but has plenty of room for stirring up drama. If the country life just doesn't suit you, it's only a short drive to a nearby larger city. Start the Revolution's plot revolves around this small town setting, and we allow you almost complete freedom to follow your dreams. You can make characters of virtually any age or type and should be able to find a place for them to fit in!
Our rules are a little different than you might find on some sites. We believe in literate roleplaying where quality is more important than quantity. Our general minimum word count is 200, but we have a section where we promote "quick" posts, and even roleplaying through IM and e-mail. More information on these unique features can be found in the rules and their respective boards.
School is back in session - both high school and college! It's also harvest season, which means there's much work to be done on all of the local farms. Temperatures drop quite a bit, though early in the season it's not uncommon to see days over 80 degrees. By the end of the season, you might even see a few light snowfalls. During this time, the leaves are changing colors and falling from the trees. The grass is slowly losing it's fresh green hues of summer, and animal life knows it's time to start settling in. The calves must be broke and the goats will be bred. There's a never ending list of things going on!

Tied between Issalyn & Free!
Issa was nominated because she is "an amazing role player" who is "busy but still keeps things running". She has "put in hard work" and is a "wonderful person." (Thanks guys!)
Free was nominated for "actively posting" and being a "cool person". She also plays some well developed characters and is dedicated to STR in general!
Character OTM
Congrats Henry Wellstrop!
Henry (rp'd by Prospice) was nominated because he has been "involved in several threads," is "very well-played," and he's "humorous." He's one of the "most unique" characters around who "never fails to produce laughs" since his misfortunes are "quite comical." He's probably not the guy you want to run into on the street, but he keeps things interesting around here!
Romance OTM
Shane Parker & Jayden Mitchell!
Shane (rp'd by Free) and Jay (rp'd by Issa) are both "well-developed" characters apart, but together they are so "cute, enough said!" It seems the general opinion that their romance is "just so cute" and they are "too cute together." Well, if nothing else - they seem to have won the cuteness award!
Thread OTM
Barbeque Stains on a White T-Shirt!
Click! This thread is with none other than our favorite couple - Shane & Jay! It was one of the first threads started on the site and also one that has led to others. The opinions of this thread are much the same as the couple themselves - "adorable!" It's a mixture of "humor" and "romance", which we'll probably continue to see from this pair.
Season Change! Welcome to Fall! :) Members, please login to all your character & OOC accounts daily. This just helps us know how many active characters there are and only takes a few moments. Also, don't forget to send in your OTM nominations for Summer!
In this board you can find out about our site and basic plot. It's really pretty simple, but nonetheless, you should read it so you know what's going on.
This board is where you can make diaries or journals for your character. It is a place you can come to collect their thoughts and develop them, without having to interact with anyone else.
There's not much in a small town, just a convenience store, a dollar shop, and a couple other random businesses. They're all built on the same plot of land right around the City Hall.
Millie's kind of a legend around here. She's the town's leading gossip and owner of the local bed & breakfast where she runs a quaint little cafe on the first floor. Stop by for some good eatin' or a place to sleep for the night.
Okay, so it's not the coolest hangout in the world. But it's something to do on a Friday night when you live 30 miles from any other form of entertainment.
Located not too far from the edge of "town" is a small but thriving horse boarding facility. They primarily focus on western, but offer lessons in all disciplines and even compete at some of the regional shows.
Ready to chill out on a hot summer day? The city pool has a large outdoor pool complete with a diving board, as well as a kiddie pool. They also have an indoor facility where the swim teams practice which is complete with a hot tub and sauna.
A perfect place for a stroll on a sunny day, this park has everything from bike trails to hiking trails. As well as everything from benches in the gardens to a playground to occupy even the most energetic kids!
With a graduating class of 100 students a year, if they're lucky, it's a small school where everyone's always in your business. Some of the students come from the farther out farmlands, while others live in the residential area around the town.
This is one of the secret areas that only a select few know about. The fishin' hole was discovered a few generations ago, and has continued to be a favorite spot to enjoy a peaceful day.
There was once a train that passed across this beautiful, classic covered bridge. Now, the tracks are abandoned and the tracks are overgrown by flowers that bloom in the nearby fields.
Located outside of town off a not-so-highly traveled road, this grassy meadow makes a place where teens love to come hang out and have bonfires to kill time.
There are a variety of homes in the area, from huge plots of farmland to the smaller, victorian and cottage style homes that are found clustered around the center of the small town.
A slightly upscale outdoor shopping district, the 'Center' has it all. There's almost any store you could imagine, a wide variety of restaurants and fast food chains, and even a movie theatre. All of this, of course, with a picturesque fountain setting in the middle.
This is the most exquisite hotel around. The bottom floor has a fancy restaurant with some food with unpronounceable names. I'm sure it's good though. After all, you pay a pretty penny for it!
Okay, seriously, with so many better things to do, do you really expect to get any studying done? I think not. But if by chance you happen to value your education, this university offers you the very finest.
Only the hottest dance club around, Beatz always plays the latest music and provides the best opportunities for mingling. Thursday nights are teen night, when no alcohol is served. Any other time, come by and prepare for the night of your life!
Bowling alley meets pool hall in this popular hangout! Half of the building is home to 30 newly refinished bowling lanes, and the other half is taken up by the arcade and a pool hall. Alcohol is served at a small bar, and on the weekend things can get a little shady.
The skate park is attached to the city park, but is fenced off to provide maximum safety for all. It can get pretty crowded during peak hours, but is sure to be a fun time.
Whatever your needs may be, you're sure to be treated with the best care possible at Penn Medical Center. Hopefully, your stay won't be too long though, I hear the food is kind of iffy.
